Adrienne Easton

educational specialist
Ayurvedic lifestyle consultant

Adrienne Easton earned her MA in Educational Psychology from Chapman University, her BA in Psychology from the Universiy of California at San Diego, and her certification in Ayurveda from AYU Ayurvedic Academy. She has studied with many Ayurvedic teachers including Dr. Vasant Lad and Dr. Vivek Shanbhag, and she has worked in various school districts since 2001 as a school psychologist with all ages from preschool to adult. She currently divides her time between Northstar Holistic Services and her work as a school psychologist in the Shoreline School District.

Adrienne was first exposed to Ayurveda by an acupuncturist who suggested that she buy a book on basic Ayurveda. She did so, put it on a shelf, and promptly forgot about it. A few years later, severe environmental allergies prompted her to remember Ayurveda, and she visited an Ayurvedic practitioner. She was amazed! Her symptoms quickly disappeared, and whenever she felt them begin to recur she now had the tools to bring her system back into balance within a day or two. Captivated, she read everything she could find about Ayurveda for several years, and then began formal Ayurvedic training under several master practitioners. Although she could not officially use her Ayurvedic training while working for a school district as a school psychologist, she was amazed at how much her Ayurvedic knowledge applied to learning/school issues and complimented the results she was getting from standardized testing. She co-founded Northstar Holistic Services with her husband Jay so clients could begin to benefit from the enhanced picture that is created when these two systems are allowed to combine freely. To the best of her knowledge, Adrienne is the first practitioner to offer the integration of these two disciplines.

Jay Easton

graduate of Byron Katie's School For The Work
Facilitator of The Work of Byron Katie

Jay Easton pursued college studies in both psychology and music. Although helping people with their stressful thoughts was always a deep interest for him, he was not satisfied by the research-oriented focus of academic psychological study, and so music eventually became the primary focus of his scholastic and professional life. However, after discovering Byron Katie's spectacularly effective process of self-inquiry known as The Work, his interest in helping others in a more direct way was rekindled with a vengeance. He immersed himself deeply in The Work in many ways, including participating in over 100 hours of workshops with Katie, and by facilitating inquiry for himself, family, friends, strangers, and anyone else who asked! He now divides his time between freelance work as a musician and his work at Northstar Holistic Services where he loves helping people free themselves from their unexamined painful beliefs.
